I am on a scavenger hunt to find worthy charities scattered all across Alabama. One of the definitions of charity is "love of one's fellow men." I believe non-profit organizations are established by God and are cemented with bricks of love. Psalms 127:1-2 says, "Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain."
I hope this website draws a map of Alabama the way that God sees it. Communities whose distance is measured not in miles but in singleness of heart and vision. I am looking for the ones whose hands and feet are in constant motion--bringing hope to the hopeless, food to the hungry, water to the thirsty, keys to those in captivity, life to the dying, and a smile back to a child's face.
In a world with so much bad news, I want to deliver the good news on purpose. When individuals cross our state's borders, they will be greeted with a sign that says, "Welcome to Alabama the Beautiful." I believe as you read the stories shared on this website, you will be left with images that will take your breath away.
